Our Philosophy

Our Lady of Victory School provides parents a traditional school-at-home curriculum and the attentive, individualized support to empower parents in educating their children for Heaven.

Because the Catholic Church has always taught that parents are the primary educators of their children, our curriculum is designed to guide parents in taking charge of their children’s education. Our program expects that parents themselves will take on the main responsibilities of educating their children from day to day. No other agency or tool, no matter how fashionable or attractive, can replace the loving care of a parent although these can assist the parents in their work. Parents will teach, monitor, and grade their children’s progress while Our Lady of Victory provides additional peace of mind through the oversight, accountability, and support guaranteed by its accreditation, its academic counseling, and its official academic record maintenance.

The Catholic faith permeates our entire curriculum. At the heart of our curriculum are our religion texts, which were all published before 1960 and used in Catholic parochial schools. We exclusively promote the Traditional Latin Mass, the ancient rites of the Sacraments, a love of the Saints and Holy Mother the Church, as well as traditional devotions, such as the Sacred Heart and the Rosary in its original 15-decade form.

In addition to religion, our program develops in children the classic Three R’s: reading, writing, and arithmetic. These fundamental skills go back to Classical antiquity and were even mentioned by St. Augustine in his Confessions as part of his own childhood education. We believe these skills involve those foundational virtues that perfect the ability of the mind in understanding, reasoning, and expressing itself.

“No other agency, neither school, nor state, nor even Church, except by a miracle of God’s grace, can supply for the neglect of religious training in the home.”

Msgr. Edward B. Jordan, Catholic philosopher of education
