In 1175, Raymond was born near Barcelona, Spain, and he died there in 1275. In his long life, Raymond focused on doing God’s will. He was a Dominican priest of great learning and a canon lawyer who helped popes and advised kings.
Many astounding miracles surrounded Raymond’s life. During one Mass, as he elevated the Host, the Infant Jesus was visible. Among many miracles reported after his death, more than thirty dead people were brought back to life through his intercession! Reading this story can encourage us to follow in the footsteps of St. Raymond of Pennafort, who lived a life of humble service and became a great instrument of God’s Will.
