In 1888, Therese Martin entered the Carmelite convent in Lisieux, France, at the age of 18. Her autobiography, written out of obedience to her superior, describes her “Little Way” of doing the ordinary things of life with great love for God.
Shortly before her death in 1897, Therese said, “I feel my mission is about to begin; my mission of making others love God as I love Him: of giving them my Little Way. I shall send down a shower of roses. I want to spend my heaven in doing good on earth.” Reading this story about St. Therese can help us see how to grow in holiness by doing even the smallest things with great love for God!
