Peter and his brother Andrew were humble fishermen when Jesus called them to become fishers of men. When Jesus asked his disciples who they said he was, Peter had faith in Jesus and responded that Jesus was Christ, the Son of God. Jesus blessed Peter, gave him the keys to the kingdom of Heaven, and made him the first pope.
Peter again showed his faith in Jesus when Jesus told him to walk to Him on the water, but Peter became afraid and started to sink. then Peter cried out to the Lord and Jesus stretched out his hand to save him. Reading this story can encourage us to follow in the footsteps of St. Peter, who professed his faith in Jesus and learned to trust that the Lord would save him.
