On May 13, 1917, Our Lady appeared to three Portuguese children: seven-year-old Jacinta; her nine-year-old brother, Francisco; and Lucia, who was ten. Asking them to return to that same spot on the 13th of each month, Mary told them they should always say the rosary with devotion.
Another time, she said to pray very hard and make sacrifices for sinners. On October 13, 1917, more than 70,000 people came to Fatima. Many were converted when they witnessed a great miracle of the sun. Reading this story can encourage us to follow in the footsteps of Jacinta, Francisco, and Lucia, who prayed the rosary with great devotion and honored Mary, the Lady of the Rosary.
