How to procure standardized tests for your child

 

We frequently receive inquiries regarding the testing of children for various purposes, including placement. OLVS prefers the older Iowa Basic Skills Tests, and we collaborate with Mrs. Sara T. Dunsford, of Phoenix, Arizona, in assessing and measuring OLVS students. These tests are intended for students who have completed at least grade 3, although younger children with advanced reading abilities may take the test as well. Ideally, the tests should be taken between the end of a school year and the beginning of the subsequent one, in order to validly measure progress from year to year. The initial cost per test is $20, which includes $10 for the test fee, plus $10 as a refundable deposit (which will be refunded to you once the test has been returned to Mrs. Dunsford).
