Famous Men of Greece

Children are fascinated by real people who had real adventures. Just as the Bible uses the stories of the Patriarchs, Judges, Prophets, and Kings to teach us, so we hope that our history units on Israel, Egypt, Greece, Rome, the Middle Ages, and the Renaissance and Reformation will be useful in teaching your children about the traits God desires. The Greenleaf Guides and the companion titles in the Famous Men series emphasize biography, so you can focus on issues of character and the consequences (both temporal and eternal) of the choices historical figures made. From these examples, we and our children can learn to make wise choices in our own lives.

The stories can be read aloud to younger students, or read independently by older students, either as the focus of study or as a supplement. Instructors will find "Famous Men of Greece" useful with students from second grade through junior high. It will help you set your study of ancient Greece in a biblical context, and includes background information, discussion questions, and vocabulary, as well as suggestions for additional reading and supplementary assignments.
